Cherry Blossom Delight: using polish and acrylic paints

This mani is probably one of my greatest achievements (that is in the realm of nail art!). I used both nail polish and acrylic paints. I decided to start using acrylic paints to create more detailed designs. Initially I wanted to use the acrylic paints for One Stroke designs (A technique I will post about about later) but I found this pretty tricky and realized it takes a lot of patience and practice.  Anyways, the great thing about acrylic paints is that you can water down the paint to make your own consistencies which allows for the application of small details. Plus you can mix colors to create great a variety of new ones and shades.

As my base color I did 2 coats of a shimmery light pink polish from H&M (Sea Pearls). The side sweep tip in mint green is OPI Mermaids Tears. I created the branches with my black striping brush polish by making a few squiggly lines. Using the acrylic paint i mixed pink and white to create a light pink. I used my dotting tool to make four small dotted clusters to create the petals. I then made a small black dot in the middle of the dotted clusters. And Wham…a pretty cherry blossom garden right in the palm of your hands :) Top coated with Seche Vite for shine and a long wearing last.
