Hey Guys 😀
So Ive been sick as a dog and been crazy busy working on my masters thesis so once again my blog has been put on the back burner…which I’m super unhappy about I have a few posts prepared ahead of time so I should be on track again. Enough of the excuse and on to the post we go…
The Holidays are around the corner and although I’m in London working on my masters thesis until mid December I do have a few holiday gatherings to get to when I return home. What I love about the holidays, apart from all the family and friends, is all the fun sparkly make up I get to wear. Out comes the glitter and Santa reds. So keep reading to find out about some of my favorite goodies for the holidays.
I’m absolutely in love with glitter nail polish all year round but the holiday season is when I can really pull out some of my favorites especially the silvers, reds and golds. A great take on a silver glitter polish is the Sally Hansen Gem Crush in Showgirl Chic. Its packed with silver and blue glitters and goes on almost fully opaque in two coats. The Barry M Nail Paint in NP150 is my all time favorite red glitter polish…its a gorgeous bright red base with red glitters. OPI Golden Eye is a rich and warm metallic gold and looks great on its own or mixed with an array of shades…its definitely a go to shade for me. Lastly Ive fallen back in love with the Mac polish in Everything That Glitters. Its a deep black base with multi colored glitters in purple, blue and gold. This bad boy goes on opaque and lasts for days.
Not only do I love glitter on my nails but also on the eyes. The Make Up For Ever Holodiam Powders are an amazing product for a light dusting of glitter. They are super finely milled and not chunky so it gives a really subtle hint of glittery goodness. Its more like a pearlescent loose powder that looks amazing over bases especially a black. I like to seal it in with the Aqua Seal to avoid fall out and maximize longevity.
If you find loose glitters to be a bit of a pain and mess glitter liners are a sure and mess free way to play with glitters. I Love the NYX Liquid Crystal Liners. They have a great color selection, they are rather opaque and last all day long too. I like to add some on the inner corner, or bottom lash line. You could also draw a thin line above your black liner or cat liner for a fun kick.

Of course you could do a glitter lip but from my experience its messy, gritty and definitely not the easiest to apply and keep looking nice so I love to give myself a high shine glossy Santa red for a perfect holiday pout. At the moment my favorite combo is the Mac Lip Pencil in RiRi Woo with Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge in #08. This combo not only creates the perfect red but is also the longest wearing combo to date. Whenever I wear this it lasts for at least 6 hours including eating and drinking. Once it sets its smudge and budge proof.
