Review- Maybelline Fit Me Collection

Hey Guys,

So a few months ago I was in Dubai visiting my sister. If you don’t already know, shes a lifestyle and beauty editor for a health and fitness magazine out there. She gets so many products to review for the magazine that she doesn’t know what to do with afterwards so she basically gives it all to me!! I’m such a lucky one 😀

Well she gave me a few goodies form the Maybelline Fit Me Collection. The shade was way too dark then but now that the sun has been shinning the color matches a little better. So I finally got the chance to test Fit Me Foundation in 125 Nude Beige, Fit Me Pressed Powder in 125 Nude Beige,  Fit Me Concealer in 125 and the Fit Me Blush in Light Peach.

Maybelline_FitMe_ColectionOn to the review we go 😀

Fit Me Foundation in 125 Nude Biege:

The packaging for this foundation is great. It looks sleek and stream line. I like that the bottle is clear so you can see how much you’ve used up. Plus it comes with a handy pump, one pump will cover my entire face. It has a light to medium yet build-able coverage.

As you can see the color is still a bit too dark for me but on the face it blends out well. It dries rather quickly so you need to work fast with it or do sections of the face at a time. It has a satin/dewy finish and feels light on the skin. It did a pretty good job at covering the redness on my cheeks and it wore for about 8 hours. I tested it without a primer to get an accurate reading of it’s longevity and blending abilities. I would definitely recommend this for people with dry skin but people with oily skin may not like this formula as I did notice a little shine on the t-zone at the end of the day.

Fit Me Concealer in 125:

The concealer from the same shade range is amazing. It comes with a doe foot applicator which makes it so easy to apply and stops from wasting product. It does a great job of covering up the under eye area. Its creamy yet not too thick in consistency so it’s super easy to blend out and doesn’t sit in the fine lines. It’s lighter in shade then the foundation so it highlights at the same time. I wouldn’t really recommend it for hiding spots as its not a heavy duty full coverage concealer and its a tad lighter then the foundation. Overall a really great under eye concealer.

MaybellineFitMeCollection_powderFit Me Pressed Powder in 125 Nude Beige:

The pressed powder comes in a sturdy plastic box with a mirror and powder puff. Its very light and not cakey at all. It blends very well and looks great with the foundation. It has a matte finish in the box but gives a dewy finish on the face which I love. It lasted approximately 7 hours before a little shine came through. I wouldn’t really say that this is great for oil control but it does set the makeup and gives a little extra coverage.

MaybellineFitMeCollection_blushFit Me Blush in Light Peach:

This would have to be my least favorite product from the collection. It’s a warm peach with a matte finish. It wore for about 4 hours. The blush looks great in the pan but it’s not very pigmented at all. It’s really a shame because the formula is very soft and finely milled so it has great potential. If your fair skinned and looking for a peach blush that’s sheer this could be for you but if your looking for a highly pigmented peach shade you will be disappointed with this one.

FitMeCollection_swatchesIf you haven’t already noticed the 125 shades looks rather different from foundation to concealer to powder. The foundation is the darkest. The concealer and powder are at least a shade lighter but I don’t mind because its great for highlighting. Plus you use such a little amount of the powder that it doesn’t really change the outcome too much. Considering the foundation is a tad too dark for me the lighter powder tones it down a bit. But if you want the powder and concealer to match your skin tone exactly you might want to go up a shade in these two.

Here’s a look I did using all these products so you can actually see the final outcome.

FitMeCollection_FinalLookTHE VERDICT

I would give this product line an 8/10. It would have gotten higher had the blush been more pigmented. As you can see though the final look with all the products together looks pretty nice. It gives a radiant and flawless look. I love the way it turned out, it makes my skin look and feel fresh with a lit from within glow. Again I probably wouldn’t recommend the foundation or powder for those with oily skin types as it might just melt off, but if your dry skinned and looking for a great and affordable foundation, concealer and powder I would give these guys a go 😀

Have any of you tried the Fit Me Collection? What are your thoughts on it?

March Monthly Favorites and Mini Reviews

Hey there 😀

I thought it would be fun to jump on the monthly favorites band wagon and share all my fave goodies. Im hopefully gonna be making this a regular thing around here 😀 Well lets just get to it, here’s what I liked this month of March and why 😀

Dermologica Age Smart Skin Protecting Primer: Love love love this stuff. It works wonders, fills in pores and tiny fine lines, has SPF 30 in it and makes my foundation slide on soooooo smoothly!! It feels really light and soft on the face, plus it smells like white tea or something of the sort which is super refreshing in the mornings.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup in shade 2.0: woowiii that was a long title, and that’s the only bad thing about this foundation. This is my go to gem on a daily basis. Its works great on my dry to combination skin (mostly dry though, and slightly oily in the t-zone in the summer). This foundation gives a light to medium to build-able coverage, I like the more light coverage for myself, as I use it mainly to even out my skin tone, so that works well for me :) It leaves my face with a nice dewy complexion, it blends easily, doesn’t cake up and has long lasting power when locked in with powder (I’ve never tried it without powder so I don’t know about the longevity on it’s own).

Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer Pencil in DEA: Creamy, smooth consistency, covers imperfections and blemishes really well. I keep coming back to this guy, it never creases under my eyes and matches my skin perfectly.

Mac Prep and Prime Highlighter in Radiant Rose: This is a great liquid highlighter without any sparkle or glitter or shimmer. I use it on the high planes of my face (down my nose, chin, cupids bow) and under my eyes to really get that bright and fresh look. Its a great color for pale skin, blends perfectly. And I really like the applicator, the pen and click is super easy to use as you can control how much product you want to dispense. I just blend it out with my tapered blending brush from CoolCos, my beauty blender or any cosmetics sponge.

Make Up For Ever HD Finishing Powder: I use this everyday to set my under eye concealer and almost everyday on the rest of my face. Its so soft and finely milled, looks great in pics and even fills in my fine lines.

Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle: Perfect highlighter. I like to use this on my cheek bones, inner corner of my eyes and eye brow bone. It just gives the most radiant and subtle glow. Really a wow product.

Too faced Milk Chocolate Soliel Bronzer: This is the only bronzer I use, (well apart from the Urban Decay Baked Bronzer which I cant find and super bummed about ) and I also use the original chocolate soleil in the summer or when I want a super sculpted look. It blends easily, isn’t orange, is completely matte, and smells like choco…..yummmmiiii!!!

Mac Cream Soda Blush from Archie’s Girl Collection (satin finish): This is basically the only blush I’ve worn since i bought it a few weeks ago. Love the fresh peachy color, and although it’s a satin finish it looks almost matte on the face. It just gives a bright and playful look to everything 😀

Monthly_Favorites_March_Cheeks_EyesMonthly_Favorites_March_Eyes_D&GNYX High Definition Shadow Base: Ive been flip flopping between my mac paint pot in painterly and this bad boy and I have to say this guy is the winner. I do love my  paint pot  but sometimes it’s a bit drying yet i also has the tendency to creases on me..depending on my skin that day!! But this NYX primer does the trick, its moisturizing, stops creasing, makes my shadow pop and last all day and night. Its at a super value too…Definitely going to repurchase this when I  run out.

Dolce & Gabbana The Eyeshadow Smooth Eye Colour Quad in Desert: Includes four buttery and velvet eye shadows, three matte shades in bone, tan and cocoa, and one stain finish in mahogany. This has been my go to eye shadow quad at the moment. It has all the shades I need to create a subtle look but also a smoky night time look. The dark cocoa brown works great as a liner too. Its also small enough and very practical for travel. Oh and how cute is that leopard print packaging!!! I would die for more of these quads but the price is pretty steep, thankfully my sister gave me this 😀

Tarte EmphasEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof liner in Bronze: Metallic brown clay/gel liner. Easy to use, lasts all day, doesn’t smear, doesn’t make my eyes water and works wonders on the waterline. I actually like to dip an eye kohl pencil in the liner and run it along my water line, its quick and efficient 😀 I would definitely love to try more of these guys.

Monthly_Favorites_March_Eyes_Tarte_MAC_EyelashCurlerTarte MultiplEye Lash Primer: Wonderful little buddy in a tube. Strengthens and enhances my lashes before mascara application. It works great with many different mascaras, Benefit They’re Real, Armani Eyes to Kill and of course the Tarte mascaras.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara: Lengthens and Volumizes. The formula isn’t too wet or too dry but just perfect for my liking. The brush is also really nice, its pretty standard but I really like it because it isn’t too big but it delivers in a big way. I have the non-waterproof version. I cant imagine how heavy duty that one is because this one feels virtually waterproof minus all the hassle removing it at night.

Mac Extended Play Lash Mascara: This little baby is fantastic. I actually got this for free with a purchase at Mac about 6 months ago, and it’s lasted me up until now, I’ve already gone out and purchased a new one for when this one dies out. My favorite part is the tiny little brush. I really like to use it on my bottom lashes, but also on the top for extreme length. Mac recently came out with a new version of this, apparently it’s more black. Would like to try it but when I was there last they were sold out…no biggies cuz I defo have a few mascaras needing to be used up.

Tarte Eye Lash Curler: Great everyday tool, couldn’t live without it. It doesn’t snag or pull at my lashes. Creates a beautiful curl and even comes with an extra pad 😀

Monthly_Favorites_March_EyeBrows_AnastasiaAnasatasia Beverly Hills Beauty Express for Brows and Eyes: This is my go to eyebrow kit everyday at the moment. The wax is great so the product can really cling on to something, love that its comes with 2 brow/shadow shades…I can mix them to get the perfect color, or use the dark one in those really sparse places. Oh and that shimmery highlight is to die for..the matte one not so much, its too dark for me but I could imagine it to look great on darker complexions. I also never use the brow stencils, but who knows maybe one day I will. I also set everything off with the Anasatasia Clear Brow Gel. This stuff really seals in the deal…careful though because a little bit goes a really long way…beware of crusty brows!!!! LOL!!!

Monthly_Favorites_March_Lips_BobbiBrown_YSL_Collection2000Bobbi Brown Lip Balm SPF 15: Great lip balm, does the job and even looks really pretty on, it gives a really beautiful shine to the lips.

YSL Sheer Volupte Shine in Color 5: This vibrant shiny pink is my go to color, its fast and idiot proof, the color is sheer and shiny but can be built up for a more intense look. These lipsticks are just la creme de la creme, they are so soft, moisturizing and they even taste like watermelons 😀

Collection 2000 Love your Lips Lip Gloss in Passion 3: What a fun lip gloss. Love the sheer vibrant pink, looks great over almost any lipstick. Its not sticky at all, its actually really soft and hydrating. It even has SPF 20 in it for that added protection. I also bought a nude version of this with some glitter in..they were on clearance at my super market for so cheap that I couldn’t pass it up and I’m glad that I didn’t.

I have really been enjoying a lot of products at the moment and these guys I’ve been reaching for basically on a daily basis. Here’s what it looks like all together and on a face (well my!!!!).

Monthly_Favorites_March_FaceLook_D&GI also got a really cool photo app for my Iphone5 called PicFrame (it’s what I used to make the black boarders and frames), hopefully it will help make my pics look prettier because lord knows I’m no photographer!!! I hope I didn’t bore you with this super long post, but I thought it was fun 😀 I would love to hear about your favorite products of the month or moment!!!
