Review & Swatches: Gosh BB Cream and BB Skin Perfecting Kit

Hey Lovelies,

On my recent travel to Dubai my sister hooked me up with a bunch of goodies. Amongst them was this Gosh BB Cream in Shade 03 Medium Beige (14 Euros)  and BB Skin Perfecting Palette in Medium (14 euros). For my British readers you can get this from Superdrug, for my Danes you can get it at Matas or gosh.dk and my American readers can order from goshcosmeticsamericas.com.

What Gosh Says:

“GOSH BB Cream is an “all in one” product with foundation,
primer and moisture in just one product.
GOSH BB Cream is formulated with mineral pigments and
the different shades are meant to cover all skin tones
– how? Well because we have made the shades to adapt
to the skin tone. This means that you can choose the shade
closest to your skin tone and when you apply it – it will
blend into your natural skin tone and give a light coverage”.

All I can say is this is the best BB cream I’ve ever tried. It comes in a color range of 5, and it’s also got SPF 15.The coverage is wow!!! I would say it has more of a foundation texture and thickness and I think this is why the coverage is so good. Although it has a medium to full coverage it leaves the skin feeling and looking fresh. It definitely evens out the skin tone and even covers other imperfections and redness.

The finish is more on the matte side with a hint of dew. I really like it because it dries fast and really absorbs well into the skin…so well in fact that I don’t even need to use powder on top. Yet it’s not so dry that it looks cakey, its actually quite moisturizing without that overly greasy look and feeling!!

Ive been wearing it for almost 2 weeks now and on warm summer days and it didn’t make my face get shiny and it certainly didn’t melt off. I would suggest though that you work rather fast with this product…I just use my hands and it really does a great job. Also, if you have very oily skin you might want to consider using some powder on top.

Here’s a look at the BB cream fresh out of the tube and when it’s been almost completely blended in my hand. Beware my hand is a tad lighter then my face and the shade 03 Medium Beige but it blends in flawlessly with my face.

THE VERDICT:

10/10 for his BB cream. It works wonders and does a great job at covering and lasts all day, even out in the sun. Its really great for warm summer days as the finish and texture is a bit more on the matte side so it does a good job at oil control but still leaves the skin looking and feeling fresh. Though I would recommend powder for quite oily skin types and would recommend mixing a bit of moisturizer in for extremely dry skin types (im dry in the winter and dry to combination oily in the summer).

The BB Skin Perfecting Kit is a bit of another story. It comes with three colors, 2 mattes and a shimmer.

BB_SkinPerfectingKit_SwatchesI kind of feel that this trio in medium is a little too dark for the medium beige BB cream, yet the Light trio looks way too light for the BB cream. But the lightest shade in this does work at covering under eye circles, not amazingly or anything and it does nothing to brighten the under eye area.

The pigmentation is so so and the texture was decent, its a thin formula but a bit on the dry side. There was a little bit of creasing under the eye. The darker shades you can use to contour and bronze the face or cheeks which is cool but I feel like the shades looked muddy. And again the pigmentation was so so, making it a bit difficult to work with. The product dries a little too fast in my opinion, again making it difficult to blend flawlessly without leaving streaks.

THE VERDICT:

6/10. Overall I’m not super impressed with this product but it’s not bad either. I think this would be great for either makeup beginners or someone with almost perfect skin that needs a tad of under eye coverage. Perhaps I would have more success with the trio of it matched the BB cream better.

Have you tried this BB cream and Corrective Kit from Gosh? What do you think?

Review: Make Up For Ever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation

Hello make up lovers,

Sorry I’ve been a bit MIA lately but I was in lala land while on holiday in Dubai visiting my sister, nephew, and brother in law. We had an amazing time, as per usual, and of course my wonderful sister spoiled me rotten with products galore!! Everything from skin care, to eye shadow, fake tan, mascara, and even a whitening tooth kit!!! So today I thought I would share and review for you all the new-ish Make Up For Ever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation.

MUFE_ProFinishMake Up For Ever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation is available to my US guys and gals via Sephora or makeupforever.com and costs $36. For my Danish pals it will be available in Sephora in Copenhagen in a few months. It comes in 25 different shades and tones. The powdered foundation is housed in a sturdy, black, shiny, plastic compact. It also comes with a cosmetics sponge housed underneath the product its self.

MUFE_ProFinish_packaging

The packaging is relatively light so its great to throw in your handbag and easy to travel with. The only downside to the packaging is it gets dirty looking quickly and picks up even the slightest hint of finger print.

MUFE_ProFinish_125MUFE_ProFinish_163So my sister got sent shades 125 and 163. Luckily enough the 163 works great with my newly tanned skin. Ive been testing it out for over a week now and I love it. You can use it wet for a dewy finish or dry for a mat finish so its great for all skin types and needs. Plus its formulated with some great ingredients which hydrate and sooth the skin. The coverage on this thing is amazing. It can be sheered or built up to full coverage so its definitely has a multi-usage. You can even use it with a large powder brush to lightly dust and set you liquid foundation.

Over all I have pretty dry and sensitive skin and I’m not normally a fan of powdered foundation as they tend to dry me out but wow oh wow this guy did the opposite, even when I used it dry. I had flawless glowing summer skin with zero breakout. The lightweight and buildable formula really is great for all skin types.

THE VERDICT:

This wonderful product gets a 10/10 from me.

It looked flawless on the skin, was easy to use and blend. It didn’t cake up at all and looked so natural, it just soaked into my skin. I love that you can use it wet for a sheer dewy finish or dry for full coverage. Plus the shade range is amazing so I’m sure almost every guy or gal can find something!!!

Review- Maybelline Fit Me Collection

Hey Guys,

So a few months ago I was in Dubai visiting my sister. If you don’t already know, shes a lifestyle and beauty editor for a health and fitness magazine out there. She gets so many products to review for the magazine that she doesn’t know what to do with afterwards so she basically gives it all to me!! I’m such a lucky one 😀

Well she gave me a few goodies form the Maybelline Fit Me Collection. The shade was way too dark then but now that the sun has been shinning the color matches a little better. So I finally got the chance to test Fit Me Foundation in 125 Nude Beige, Fit Me Pressed Powder in 125 Nude BeigeFit Me Concealer in 125 and the Fit Me Blush in Light Peach.

Maybelline_FitMe_ColectionOn to the review we go 😀

MaybellineFitMeCollection_Foundation

Fit Me Foundation in 125 Nude Biege:

The packaging for this foundation is great. It looks sleek and stream line. I like that the bottle is clear so you can see how much you’ve used up. Plus it comes with a handy pump, one pump will cover my entire face. It has a light to medium yet build-able coverage.

As you can see the color is still a bit too dark for me but on the face it blends out well. It dries rather quickly so you need to work fast with it or do sections of the face at a time. It has a satin/dewy finish and feels light on the skin. It did a pretty good job at covering the redness on my cheeks and it wore for about 8 hours. I tested it without a primer to get an accurate reading of it’s longevity and blending abilities. I would definitely recommend this for people with dry skin but people with oily skin may not like this formula as I did notice a little shine on the t-zone at the end of the day.

MaybellineFitMeCollection_concealer

Fit Me Concealer in 125:

The concealer from the same shade range is amazing. It comes with a doe foot applicator which makes it so easy to apply and stops from wasting product. It does a great job of covering up the under eye area. Its creamy yet not too thick in consistency so it’s super easy to blend out and doesn’t sit in the fine lines. It’s lighter in shade then the foundation so it highlights at the same time. I wouldn’t really recommend it for hiding spots as its not a heavy duty full coverage concealer and its a tad lighter then the foundation. Overall a really great under eye concealer.

MaybellineFitMeCollection_powderFit Me Pressed Powder in 125 Nude Beige:

The pressed powder comes in a sturdy plastic box with a mirror and powder puff. Its very light and not cakey at all. It blends very well and looks great with the foundation. It has a matte finish in the box but gives a dewy finish on the face which I love. It lasted approximately 7 hours before a little shine came through. I wouldn’t really say that this is great for oil control but it does set the makeup and gives a little extra coverage.

MaybellineFitMeCollection_blushFit Me Blush in Light Peach:

This would have to be my least favorite product from the collection. It’s a warm peach with a matte finish. It wore for about 4 hours. The blush looks great in the pan but it’s not very pigmented at all. It’s really a shame because the formula is very soft and finely milled so it has great potential. If your fair skinned and looking for a peach blush that’s sheer this could be for you but if your looking for a highly pigmented peach shade you will be disappointed with this one.

FitMeCollection_swatchesIf you haven’t already noticed the 125 shades looks rather different from foundation to concealer to powder. The foundation is the darkest. The concealer and powder are at least a shade lighter but I don’t mind because its great for highlighting. Plus you use such a little amount of the powder that it doesn’t really change the outcome too much. Considering the foundation is a tad too dark for me the lighter powder tones it down a bit. But if you want the powder and concealer to match your skin tone exactly you might want to go up a shade in these two.

Here’s a look I did using all these products so you can actually see the final outcome.

FitMeCollection_FinalLookTHE VERDICT

I would give this product line an 8/10. It would have gotten higher had the blush been more pigmented. As you can see though the final look with all the products together looks pretty nice. It gives a radiant and flawless look. I love the way it turned out, it makes my skin look and feel fresh with a lit from within glow. Again I probably wouldn’t recommend the foundation or powder for those with oily skin types as it might just melt off, but if your dry skinned and looking for a great and affordable foundation, concealer and powder I would give these guys a go 😀

Have any of you tried the Fit Me Collection? What are your thoughts on it?
