Favorite Summer Eye Shadow Palettes

Hey guys and dolls,

So summer is sadly coming to an end soon and I thought it could be fun to show you my most used, worn, and loved eye shadow palettes from this summer…

Favorite_Summer_palettesI have to say I have a mighty eye shadow collection so using up product is definitely hard for me, especially since I try and switch it up daily so everyone can be loved equally 😀  But I’ve been totally gravitating towards fun pastel pinks and lavenders as well as beautiful bronzes and corals.

One of my favorite palettes (and a new one for that matter) for creating a beautiful bronzed and coral eye has got to be my Maybelline Eyestudio Quad in Coral Oasis (you can find a full review and swatches here) Its budget friendly, super pigmented and has every color you need to create a full look…what more could a girl ask for!!??

Maybelline_Eyestudio_CoralOasisQuadI also recently bought the Too Faced Summer Eyes palette…this thing is wow. Again all the colors you need to create a day or night look. Plus this bad boy is totally rockable and appropriate for those autumn days ahead of us!! (check out my full review and swatches here)

TooFaced_SummerEye_1As for my beloved pastel shades the Lime Crime D’Antoinette palette has been a huge fave of mine since before summer too. Fully pigmented matte pastel shades are really hard to come by and these fit the bill to a T!!! (review and swatches here if your interested)

LimeCrime_DAntoinette_PaletteIve also been loving the Dolce & Gabbana Eden Quad for a real ethereal summer look (full review and swatches can be found here)

Dolce&Gabbana_Eden_Quad_1Of course I have many other favorites but these have been absolute stand outs for me this summer. Whats been your favorite eyeshadow or palette for this season?

May Favorites

Hey Guys,

Its that time of the month again…May Beauty Favorites.

May_Beauty_FavoritesSummer has finally hit Copenhagen so I’ve been wearing a little less makeup but I do have some staple favorites and a few new ones that I’m obsessed with and cant live without 😀 Lets just get in to it…

IMG_2799Now that the sun is shinning and I had a hot sunny Holiday in Dubai I’ve been Wearing Josie Maran Argan Moisturizing Serum Foundation. Its really great because adapts to your skin tone so it’s perfect for summer months and sunny holidays when your skin color changes. Its light wearing and really moisturizing and really great for those with dry skin and looking for a light coverage.

I’ve also been pairing it with my Mac Prep and Prime in Radiance as a highlight/concealer for my under eye area. It instantly gives my face the fresh brightness it needs early in the morning.

For my lips I’ve basically only been using my new Revlon Lip Butters, I got in my trade with Lola’s Charms, especially the shade in Sweet Tarte. Its the perfect, every day, easy to wear pink. Plus its super moisturizing and so comfortable to wear on the lips. I will have a review and swatches up soon on some of the shades I picked up in Dubai.

I’ve also been obsessed with OPI Which is Witch. I also got this one in my swap with Lola’s Charms. Its a super fun glitter top coat that looks good over any color to add a little glam to your nails.

May_Beauty_Favorites_PowderSurprise, Surprise, Benefit Hoola Bronzer and TheBalm Mary-Lou Minizer win again for most awesome awesomeness!!! You get what I mean, right? They are booth super pigmented, creamy and really perk up the complexion. I’ve also been reaching for my Tarte Amazonian Clay 12- Hour Blushes. I really love the texture of these bad boys. They really blend in so beautifully into the skin. I’ve been rocking the shade Dollface, It’s a really pretty dusty rose.

May_Beauty_Favorites_SigmaBrushesI recently posted on my instagram a little pre birthday haul for myself. One of the items was the Sigma Mrs. Bunny Collection Brush Set. OMG….AMA-ZING!!! All the brushes in the kit are amazing. Super soft and really versatile. But I’m really really enjoying the F40 Large Angled Contour brush for my blush and the F30 Large Powder brush for setting my make up or blending out contour and blush. I’m definitely interested in getting more. I’m heading to IMATS in London in just a few weeks so hopefully I can grab some there…otherwise I’m making a trip to Ulta when I’m in Cali later this summer.

LimeCrime_DAntoinette_PaletteAnd lastly I’ve really been gravitating towards my Lime Crime Palette D’Antoinette. I just love the ethereal and soft look the create…perfect for these lovely summer days.

Well those were my favorite babies of May. I would love to hear what your favorites are, so leave a comment below.

Review & Swatches- Lime Crime D’Antoinette Palette

Hey Guys,

I recently hauled the Lime Crime Fantasy Palette D’Antoinette. I received it early last week and have been using it non stop everyday since then. I’m just in love with this bad boy. And you’ll get to see exactly why.

The Palette D’Antoinette comes with four glorious pastel matte shades and a funky metallic silver. It’s all housed in a sturdy purple tin with Lime Crime engraved on the front. It cost $34.99 and can be purchased through limecrime.com or for my European ladies through geniecosmetics.co.uk. Here’s a closer look at the shades, swatches form left to right.

Royal Flush: Pastel pink with a matte finish. Very pigmented and true to color, easy to apply, blends like a gem, barely any chalkiness and rather smooth for a matte, barely no fall out, and lasts all day.

Absinthe-Minded: Light pastel green with a matte finish. This is is highly pigmented and blends effortlessly.

Macarooned: Pastel peachy orange with a matte finish. Again this one is highly pigmented, blends and applies smoothly.

Ribbonesque: Pastel lavender purple with a matte finish. Like all the shades in this palette, this shade is also extremly pigmented, smooth, easy to blend, almost zero fallout and lasts for hours.

Mercurious: This is the only shimmery shade in the palette. It’s a high metallic silver.  It actually complements these shades really well although it may seem out of place. Out of all the shades this is the least impressive. It is very pigmented but It is a little on the chunky shimmery side and has more fall out then the others although still minimal.

Here’s a look I did using Absinthe-Minded and some matte browns from the Lorac Pro Palette. iLimeCrime_DAntoinette_Look

The Verdict:

Overall this beautiful gem of a palette deserves a 9/10.

Its just amazing. I haven’t found any matte pastel colors as pigmented, buttery, smooth and long wearing as these. All of the shades are true to color, highly pigmented, and pack a punch. The great thing is although they are bright and vibrant colors the matte and pastel nature of most of the shades creates quite a romantic and soft look. Another bonus with this palette: it can also be used on the cheeks, or the over the whole face, plus you can use the super cute tin when your done with your shadows 😀 I would highly recommend this palette, although it may be a bit pricey its well worth the money. The quality is just absolutely fantastic!!

This has definitely given me a great impression of Lime Crime products. It’s the first product I’ve tried from them and I hope it’s not the last 😀 I have heard amazing things about their lipsticks. Have you tried any Lime Crime products? Anything you would recommend?
