Swatches & First Impressions: Mac Kelly Osbourne Collection

Hey guys :)

So I’ve had the date saved for the release of the Mac Kelly Osbourne Collection for weeks now and I was lucky enough to take a peek at the collection before it was released in stores this past Thursday the 12th. I even got to put aside all the goodies I wanted and purchased them in store on the release date…yey for me!!!

So I picked up the lipsticks in Riot House and Dodgy Girl, The Blush in Cheeky Buger, and the Bloody Brilliant Eyeshadow Quad.

mac_kellyOsbourneCollection_lipstick_swatchesDodgy Girl is a light lavender with a matte finish although it isn’t completely matte as it shows a subtle hint of glow. It has a bit of a satin finish and feels rather comfortable for a matte shade. It has a soft creamy texture and applied smoothly without skipping or pulling on the lips. The pigmentation is great achieving opacity with just one or two swipes. No feathering, bleeding or cracking experienced either.

Riot House is a light yet vivid peachy orange with a mate finish. The pigmentation is great, as well as the opacity. It has a soft creamy texture and applied smoothly on the lips, though the formula was drying for me and didn’t apply that evenly. I did not experience any bleeding or feathering with this one either. I do love how unique this shade is and cant wait to try it mixed with more hydrating products.

mac_kellyOsbourneCollection_blush_cheekyBuger_2mac_kellyOsbourneCollection_blush_cheekyBuger_swatchCheeky Buger Blush is a light, pastel,  pinky-peach with a matte finish. The texture and formula is super soft and smooth, making it so effortless to blend into the skin for a subtle look, yet the pigmentation is great for a more powerful effect too.

Spoonful of Sugar is  a  light silver with subtle warmth and a frosted finish. The texture was smooth and creamy. It also had good pigmentation and color pay off.

mac_kellyOsbourneCollection_bloodyBrilliant_eyeshadowQuad_ticketyboo

Tickety Boo is a soft muted plum brown. Its a mid toned warm mauve shade with a beautiful satin finish. The texture was smooth and the pigmentation is great for a mid toned shade.

mac_kellyOsbourneCollection_bloodyBrilliant_eyeshadowQuad_fizzyRoseFizzy Rose is a cool toned light pink lilac with a slight pearly sheen. The texture is soft and smooth. The pigmentation is decent (not the strongest of the bunch). Worked over a corresponding base or white base will definitely make this pastel shade pop.

mac_kellyOsbourneCollection_bloodyBrilliant_eyeshadowQuad_shadowyLady

Shadowy Lady is a blackened plum with a matte finish. More specifically this shade is a deep yet muted and cool toned, burgundy brown. The pigmentation is great, yet the shadow is a bit drier in texture.

THE VERDICT:

4/5 for this super cool collection. The packaging is super cute, I cant resist me some lavender packaging hahaha!!! I love the uniqueness of the lipstick shades (although I would have preferred a more moisturizing finish for Riot House). The blush is gorgeous and perfect for that girly baby doll peachy-pink flush. I also love the eyeshadow quad for its diverse colors and finishes, with overall great pigmentation and texture.

Have any of you picked up any pieces from this collection? If so what did you get and what do you think? If not, are there any items your thinking about snagging?

Paris, Milan and London Fashion Week Beauty Trends: Nude Lips and My Favorite Nudes from Mac

Hey Guys 😀

The recent fashion weeks in London, Paris and Milan boasted a range of gorgeous make up looks that will be setting the trends for the upcoming season. Although orange lips were seen all over the catwalks, nude lips also seemed to be all the rage. From the Top Show show in London, to Roberto Cavalli in Milan, and Victor & Rolf in Paris.

I really do love me some colorful lips but I’ve really been in to nudes at the moment. So I decided to compile a list, with swatches, of my favorite nude lipsticks from Mac that will be great if you want to follow this easy and full proof trend.

favorite_nude_lipsticks_macmac_nude_lipstcick_swatches(From top to bottom: Shy Girl, Myth, Close Contact, Creme De Nude)

Shy Girl: A soft nude beige with peachy-pink undertones. A Cremesheen finish gives a good amount of pigmentation with a slight sheen while being comfortable to wear.

Myth: A pale pinky beige with a Satin finish. Its nice and creamy, and super pigmented. It can be a bit drying though so just add a tad of lip balm before application.

Close Contact: A medium toned nude with warm peachy hints. Its an Amplified finish so its extremely creamy and buttery. Super comfortable to wear.

Creme De Nude: A traditional beige nude with slight warm undertones and a hint of light pink. Its super pigmented and the texture is super soft and smooth.

mac_nude_lipsticks_swatches_handI love all of these but Creme De Nude and Shy Girl are my absolute faves. What I love about these shades is you can transform them using a variety of different lip liners and/or lip glosses. You can really create your own unique shades time after time by layering with what you already have in your stash.

What are some of your favorite nude shades? Would you rock any of these?

Review & Swatches: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

Hey Beauty Lovers,

So I’m absolutely loving Revlon lip products at the moment. I received a Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in my trade with Lola’s Charms and I bought two more when I was In Dubai. So I thought, hey,  today’s post should be a review and swatches on my new Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains in 040 Rendezvous, 010 Darling, and 025 Valentine.

Revlon_BalmStain_Review

If you don’t already know these famous babies act like a long wearing stain but with the comfort of a lip balm and the shiny razzle dazzle of a lip gloss. The formula on these guys are amazing. You can apply one coat for a subtle hint of shining color or built up to an opaque glossy coating. The packaging is nice too. Its a twist top so no need for sharpening and the large crayon size makes for a super easy and mess free application.

Revlon_BalmStain_Review_Swatches_Rendezvous040 Rendezvous: Is a vibrant warm orange which is super on trend for this summer. It’s super silky smooth, moisturizing and very comfortable on the lips. It can be worn more sheer or built up like in the swatch for a glossy wash of orange juiciness. It lasts for a good four hours on me plus more with its beautiful staining capabilities.

Revlon_BalmStain_Review_Swatches_Darling010 Darling is a cold toned lavender purple. This is probably the sheerest of the three but it still packs a punch. It can appear very subtle yet vibrant, a great way to rock the pastel and lavender lip trend that is oh so popular at the moment. Again it lasts for a good four hours plus staining. Although, this one doesn’t leave as much of an intense stain. Regardless, its still a beautiful shade in a fantastic formula.

Revlon_BalmStain_Review_Swatches_Sweetheart025 Sweetheart is a loevly bright pink/magenta with a slight blue undertone. Just like the others the formula is silky smooth and moisturizing. This one also lasts for many hours and leaves the most gorgeous pink flush on the lips once the glossiness disappears.

THE VERDICT

10/10 for Revlon’s Balm Stains. They are fab for warm summer days when you just want a sheer coating but also hold there own when it comes to longevity and buildable opacity. They are definitely long lasting with a super high gloss finish. Plus they are so moisturizing unlike many long wearing lip products and stains. I for sure want to pick up a few more when I’m in Cali this summer. I have to say I’m super impressed with Revlon, I just wish they had it here in Copenhagen :(

Have any of you tried Revlon Kissable Balm stains? What shades would you recommend?
