Review and Swatches: Dolce & Gabbana Eye Shadow Quad in Eden

Hey guys,

Over the past year or so I’ve collected a few of the Dolce & Gabbana eye shadow quads through out my travels. So I thought it would be about time to review and swatch them for you all. I’d like to start off with the Dolce & Gabbana Quad in Eden ($59). I bought mine in Sephora in Dubai. I know some in the US carries the brand and I’ve also seen it at Saks Fith Avenue. Unfortunately I haven’t seen it at any beauty retails in Denmark.

First of all, lets talk about how amazingly gorgeous the packaging is on this thing!! The gold packaging and sleek look really make it feel luxe. Plus it’s super sturdy. Sadly it came with two sponge tip applicators…

Dolce&Gabbana_Eden_Quad_CaseDolce&Gabbana_Eden_Quad_3The quad boasts four light pastel shades in matte and satin finishes with the DG emblem engraved.

Dolce&Gabbana_Eden_QuadDolce&Gabbana_Eden_Quad_1Unfortunately the shades have no name but here’s a few swatches so you can see them up close.

Dolce&Gabbana_Eden_Quad_SwatchesFrom left to right:

  • Off white cream shade with a satin to matte finish. Very creamy and smooth texture. The pigmentation is fantastic as well. It looks absolutely gorgeous as an inner corner highlight.
  • Cool toned pink with shimmer finish. This is the sheerest shade in the quad but its gorgeous in the crease or as a transition shade above the crease.
  • Sea foam mint green shade with matte finish. Slightly powdery texture but smooth at the same time.  Great pigmentation when used with a base.
  • Cool toned light grey with matte finish. This is a really unique shade. Great pigmentation, very smooth. This looks amazing in the crease with a bit of the pink buffed on the edge.

4/5 for this unique quad (from now on my rating will be out of 5 to match the Rich Snippets Ratings in word press!!). The colors are gorgeous, so light and fresh. Perfect for creating ethereal summer looks. They swatch beautifully and opaque. On the eyes they are not as opaque but with a good base or a white base the colors really pop. I’ve heard some mixed reviews about this guy but for me it’s a total hit. The color payoff is pretty good for light and pastel shades. The texture is amazing on this bad boy, really soft and smooth. The longevity was great but I’m pretty sure it was the eye primer that did the trick 😀 The down fall of this product is definitely the price!!!

Have any of you tried a quad or other products from the Dolce & Gabbana makeup range? I’d love to hear you opinions 😀

Review & Swatches: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter

Hello Lovelies,

It’s another bright and sunny summer day here in Copenhagen so I thought it would be rather fitting to share with you my new favorite summer lip products: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters.

Revlon_ColorBurst_LipButters_Review&SwatchesI only have three of these bad boys and oh man oh man do I want more. I’ll definitely be stalking up on these when I head to Cali for summer holiday. If you don’t already, no these little guys are super moisturizing sheer lipsticks. There almost like a lip balm with a powerful color punch. They smell delightful and feel so great on the lips. They are an easy and hassle free everyday lip color. They don’t bleed or sit on the dry patches or lines on your lips. They give a more sheer coverage then lipstick but by no means are they a tinted lip balm. You can actually build up quite an opaque color with just a few swipes.

Revlon_ColorBurst_LipButters_Review&Swatches_1I received Sweet Tart and Tutti Frutti in my trade with Lola’s Charms and picked up Wild Watermelon when I was in Dubai. I should have picked up more but I was with my boyfriend and he can only handle about 5 minutes in any beauty supply store so I was rushed!! haha. Well to be honest it’s not like I need more lip products but these are just amazing and like nothing I own in my collection.

Well lets get into the review and swatches.

Revlon_ColorBurst_LipButters_Review&Swatches_SweetTartSweet Tart is a vibrant pink. The swatch is one swipe so it is rather sheer but can be built up to a rather intense color opacity.

Revlon_ColorBurst_LipButters_Review&Swatches_WildWatermelonWild Watermelon is super. It’s a redish pink and looks really fab on the lips. Again this is one swipe so it may appear sheer but a few swipes on the lips and wow oh wow do you have some bright colorful kissable looking lips.

Revlon_ColorBurst_LipButters_Review&Swatches_TuttiFruttiTutti Frutti is a warm orange. I think this is a fab color for summer and even fall. It’s a great alternative for you girls who have been wanting to try the orange color trend without over doing it or diving into those opaque vibrant oranges. This is still vibrant and packs a punch but you can wear it extra sheer for a tint of orange goodness.

10/10 for these babies. They do just what they claim, they moisturize and add a subtle to buildable color coverage. They are highly pigmented for this type of product and wear for a pretty long time. They’re just so perfect for warm summer days, easy to apply and mess free 😀 And the packaging is great, the color of the tube represents the color of the product so its super easy to see the colors amongst all my other lippies (that is if your a lip junkie like me, then you no what I’m talking about!!!)

I would definitely suggest these to everyone, plus they have sooooo many shades to choose from. If your looking for opaque matte colors these aren’t for you but for a subtle and ethereal color on the lips then you should go for it. Plus since they’re drugstore they are rather affordable. All my US readers can purchase these at any drugstore, target or Walmart. For my Brits you can get these at boots, unfortunately for my Danes they aren’t sold in Denmark :( But i think Ive seen them on amazon and ebay.

Have any of you tried the Revlon Lip Butters? I would love to hear about your experience.

Review: Make Up For Ever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation

Hello make up lovers,

Sorry I’ve been a bit MIA lately but I was in lala land while on holiday in Dubai visiting my sister, nephew, and brother in law. We had an amazing time, as per usual, and of course my wonderful sister spoiled me rotten with products galore!! Everything from skin care, to eye shadow, fake tan, mascara, and even a whitening tooth kit!!! So today I thought I would share and review for you all the new-ish Make Up For Ever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation.

MUFE_ProFinishMake Up For Ever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation is available to my US guys and gals via Sephora or and costs $36. For my Danish pals it will be available in Sephora in Copenhagen in a few months. It comes in 25 different shades and tones. The powdered foundation is housed in a sturdy, black, shiny, plastic compact. It also comes with a cosmetics sponge housed underneath the product its self.

The packaging is relatively light so its great to throw in your handbag and easy to travel with. The only downside to the packaging is it gets dirty looking quickly and picks up even the slightest hint of finger print.

MUFE_ProFinish_125MUFE_ProFinish_163So my sister got sent shades 125 and 163. Luckily enough the 163 works great with my newly tanned skin. Ive been testing it out for over a week now and I love it. You can use it wet for a dewy finish or dry for a mat finish so its great for all skin types and needs. Plus its formulated with some great ingredients which hydrate and sooth the skin. The coverage on this thing is amazing. It can be sheered or built up to full coverage so its definitely has a multi-usage. You can even use it with a large powder brush to lightly dust and set you liquid foundation.

Over all I have pretty dry and sensitive skin and I’m not normally a fan of powdered foundation as they tend to dry me out but wow oh wow this guy did the opposite, even when I used it dry. I had flawless glowing summer skin with zero breakout. The lightweight and buildable formula really is great for all skin types.

This wonderful product gets a 10/10 from me.

It looked flawless on the skin, was easy to use and blend. It didn’t cake up at all and looked so natural, it just soaked into my skin. I love that you can use it wet for a sheer dewy finish or dry for full coverage. Plus the shade range is amazing so I’m sure almost every guy or gal can find something!!!

Have any of you tried this product?
