Review & Swatches: Too Faced Summer Eyes 2013 Palette

Hey guys and dolls,

I picked up a bunch of new eye shadow palettes while I was in Cali and I thought I’d start reviewing and swatching them for you. Yesterday I posted my review of the Maybelline Eyestudio Quad in Coral Oasis which you can see here. Today it’s the Too Faced Summer Eyes 2013 Palette ($36). I picked mine up at Naimies Beauty in North Hollywood But I’ve also seen it here on  and on

TooFaced_SummerEyePaletteThe palette was originally released in 2012 in the traditional Too Faced cardboard boxes. This 2013 edition is housed in a sturdy metal tin. It also comes with idea cards. This palette contains three large shadows which could double as face highlighters and blushes as well as six other shades in a variety of colors and finishes.

TooFaced_SummerEye_1TooFaced_SummerEye_2TooFaced_SummerEye_SwatchesSeashell: A cool and light toned peachy pink with a matte finish.

Peach Fuzz: A cream shade with a peach undertone and tiny gold micro glitter.

Sunbeam: A yellow based cream with satin finish.

TooFaced_SummerEye_Swatches_2Plumeria: A cool toned frosty pink.

Coral Crush: A coral peach shade with gold micro gitter

Mermaid: A shimmery cool toned turquoise blue.

TooFaced_SummerEye_Swatches3Cocoa Beach: A cool toned taupe brown with a shimmer finish.

Chocolate Sun: A warm toned dark brown with gold micro glitter

Toasted Coconut: A cool toned medium brown with a matte finish.

9/10 for this gorgeous summer palette. I love the packaging, super sturdy and travel friendly. There’s a great range of shades to create a soft summer look but easily vamped up for a smokey night time creation. The pigmentation is very lovely. Its not the most pow wow in your face pigmentation but the color payoff is great to create soft summer looks and warm smokey eyes. The fall out is minimal with this palette…just remember the cardinal rule..tap your brush before you apply. The texture of the shadows are amazing, super buttery and soft. Truly easy to blend together and out for a seamless look. The longevity of the shadows with a base last all day long, even on those warm summer days. I love the inclusion of the Shade Mermaid and Coral well as the different tones of brown to really create dimension to your look. The only downfall with this palette is the similarity between the shades Peach Fuzz and Sun Beam. Apart from that this is one of my favorite summer palettes at the moment 😀

Have any of you tried this palette? Whats your thoughts?

Review & Swatches: Maybelline Eyestudio Quad in Coral Oasis

Hey guys,

I recently did a really pretty coral eye look using the Maybelline Eyestudio Quad in Coral Oasis. So I thought I’d review and swatch it for you 😀

I got this product at Walgreens for $9.79 but it can also be purchased at any other American drugstore or here through for all my internationals 😀

The packaging is fairly simple, made form plastic including a double ended sponge tip applicator that I threw out immediately. The packaging feels a bit flimsy but on the plus side its super slim and small so its convenient for on the go or for traveling.

The quad comes with 4 beautiful shimmery shades.

Maybelline_Eyestudio_CoralOasisQuad_PinkThe first shade from the left is a gorgeous shimmery pink toned champagne shade. Amazing pigmentation, super creamy texture and amazing longevity when worn with a primer.

Maybelline_Eyestudion_CoralOasisQuad_GoldThe second shade is a yellowy gold shimmer shade. This is a really beautiful shade and compliments the warm tones beautifully. Great pigmentation, blendability, texture and longevity.

Maybelline_Eyestudio_CoralOasisQuad_CoralThe third shade is a beautiful coral orange with a satin finish. This is my favorite shade, great color pay off, another buttery smooth shade with great lasting power.

Maybelline_Eyestudio_CoralOasisQuad_BrownThe last shade is a deep brown with aubergine undertones. This one also has a satin finish. As is the case with the other shades this one is also highly pigmented, very smooth, easily blendable and great long lasting power.

Here’s a look I created with all the shades plus the shade Mermaid from the Too faced Summer Eyes Palette ( I’ll have a review and swatches up of this guy at some point this week!!).

9/10 for this great budget friendly quad. It has every color you need to create a fresh day time eye or smoked out for those warm summer evenings. The pigmentation, texture, blendability and staying power is wonderful on every single shade. The fallout was minimal, I just made sure to tap the extra product off my brush before application 😀 The only down fall to this product was the flimsy packaging. Otherwise this product was spot on perfect!!

Review & Swatches: Buxom Full-On Lip Cream

Hey guys,

Ive got another lip product review to share with you all. I hope its not too repetitive at the moment with all the lippy reviews but since its summer these are my favorite types of products to try out and wear. They make any look put together without tremendous time or effort. Sometimes dewy skin, mascara and a bright lip is all you need on a beautiful and warm summer day.

Enough rambling…today I’d like to share my thoughts on the Buxom Full-On Lip Creams ($19) in Mai Tai and Lavender Cosmo. Available here through Sephora or your local Bare Escentuals counter.

Buxom_LipCreamThe product comes in simple white packaging with the Buxom logo and is housed in a clear matte frosted tube with a doe foot applicator.

The Lip Creams are a shimmer and glittery free gloss with a plumping effect. The formula is super smooth and soft, no streaking or settling into fine lines. The finish is a super wow high impact gloss that plumps the lips for a perfect pout. The smell is rather light but so delicious like vanilla coconut cream.

There is definitely some peppermint or spearmint up in these babies. You cant smell it in the tube but you can definitely feel it and smell it once it’s on your lips. There’s a slight tingling sensation but not uncomfortable or painful like some plumping glosses (namely the NYX lip injector…ouch that made my lips burn so bad, they felt like they were on fire!!!). I actually really love the freshness this brings to my lips. It even makes my breath smell fresh 😀

Here’s a closer look at these gorgeous lip creams.

Buxom_LipCream_MaiTaiBuxom_LipCream_MaiTai_SwatchMai Tai: Creamy coral. This one is a bit sheer but looks really effortless and fresh on the lips. It just gives that slight hint of color. Great for those not wanting to venture into the full on neon and bright corals available out there at the moment. The longevity is pretty lasted about 4 hours with drinking.

Buxom_LipCream_LavenderCosmoBuxom_LipCream_LavenderCosmo_SwatchLavender Cosmo: A creamy lavender baby pink. The pigmentation is superb on this one. Its a beautiful and opaque (for a gloss). A super bang on trend shade for this summer. The longevity was also pretty impressive.

9/10 for these gorgeous cream glosses. The minty tingly sensation is refreshing and definitely adds a bit of plump. The super high gloss finish is exceptional, also adding to the plump factor. The formula is easy to use, super creamy and feels very comfortable. Not sticky at all. The pigmentation on Mai Tai wasn’t amazing but still absolutely gorgeous non the less. Lavender Cosmo was the stand out for me in terms of pigmentation. I’d love to test out a few more as there are so many beautiful colors form this range including some gorgeous nudes and deep plums.

Have you tried the Buxom Full-On Lip Creams? Whats your favorite shade?
