Swatches & First Impressions: Mac Kelly Osbourne Collection

Hey guys :)

So I’ve had the date saved for the release of the Mac Kelly Osbourne Collection for weeks now and I was lucky enough to take a peek at the collection before it was released in stores this past Thursday the 12th. I even got to put aside all the goodies I wanted and purchased them in store on the release date…yey for me!!!

So I picked up the lipsticks in Riot House and Dodgy Girl, The Blush in Cheeky Buger, and the Bloody Brilliant Eyeshadow Quad.

mac_kellyOsbourneCollection_lipstick

mac_kellyOsbourneCollection_lipstick_swatchesDodgy Girl is a light lavender with a matte finish although it isn’t completely matte as it shows a subtle hint of glow. It has a bit of a satin finish and feels rather comfortable for a matte shade. It has a soft creamy texture and applied smoothly without skipping or pulling on the lips. The pigmentation is great achieving opacity with just one or two swipes. No feathering, bleeding or cracking experienced either.

Riot House is a light yet vivid peachy orange with a mate finish. The pigmentation is great, as well as the opacity. It has a soft creamy texture and applied smoothly on the lips, though the formula was drying for me and didn’t apply that evenly. I did not experience any bleeding or feathering with this one either. I do love how unique this shade is and cant wait to try it mixed with more hydrating products.

mac_kellyOsbourneCollection_blush_cheekyBuger_2mac_kellyOsbourneCollection_blush_cheekyBuger_swatchCheeky Buger Blush is a light, pastel,  pinky-peach with a matte finish. The texture and formula is super soft and smooth, making it so effortless to blend into the skin for a subtle look, yet the pigmentation is great for a more powerful effect too.

Spoonful of Sugar is  a  light silver with subtle warmth and a frosted finish. The texture was smooth and creamy. It also had good pigmentation and color pay off.

mac_kellyOsbourneCollection_bloodyBrilliant_eyeshadowQuad_ticketyboo

Tickety Boo is a soft muted plum brown. Its a mid toned warm mauve shade with a beautiful satin finish. The texture was smooth and the pigmentation is great for a mid toned shade.

mac_kellyOsbourneCollection_bloodyBrilliant_eyeshadowQuad_fizzyRoseFizzy Rose is a cool toned light pink lilac with a slight pearly sheen. The texture is soft and smooth. The pigmentation is decent (not the strongest of the bunch). Worked over a corresponding base or white base will definitely make this pastel shade pop.

mac_kellyOsbourneCollection_bloodyBrilliant_eyeshadowQuad_shadowyLady

Shadowy Lady is a blackened plum with a matte finish. More specifically this shade is a deep yet muted and cool toned, burgundy brown. The pigmentation is great, yet the shadow is a bit drier in texture.

THE VERDICT:

4/5 for this super cool collection. The packaging is super cute, I cant resist me some lavender packaging hahaha!!! I love the uniqueness of the lipstick shades (although I would have preferred a more moisturizing finish for Riot House). The blush is gorgeous and perfect for that girly baby doll peachy-pink flush. I also love the eyeshadow quad for its diverse colors and finishes, with overall great pigmentation and texture.

Have any of you picked up any pieces from this collection? If so what did you get and what do you think? If not, are there any items your thinking about snagging?

Review & Swatches: Lime Crime Velvetines

Hey guys and dolls,

Sorry it’s been a while but I’ve been road tripping around California and havent had a chance to blog. But I’ve been at the home base for a few days now and ready to coninuing review some of my most recent purchases. Today I’d thought Id share my thoughts on the Lime Crime Velvetines in Red Velvet and Suedeberry ($16.99). My Europeans can purchase here at cutecosmetics.co.uk and my Americans can purcahse dircertly through here at limecrimemakeup.com

LimeCrime_VelvetinesThe Velvetines come in super cute red and purple packaging with the Lime Crime Logo. The product is housed in a clear matte frosty bottle with a doe foot applicator.

This product is a liquid lipstick formula meant to go on like a gloss but dry to a matte long lasting finish.

LimeCrime_Velvetines_RedVelvetLimeCrime_Velvetines_RedVelvet_SwatchRed Velvet: A matte cherry red. This is just the most perfect and classic in your face fire engine red. With one swipe you can achieve a full fierce red lip but also easily sheered out with your finger for easier wear (remember to clean your finger afterwards or it will remain stained for hours!!). Either way the product lasts for hours, around 5 including drinking and even leaves a stain for a few more hours.

LimeCrime_Velvetines_SuedeberryLimeCrime_Velvetines_Suedeberry_SwatchSuedeberry: A matte bright coral with pink undertones. This one is definitely fun for summer. Again, with one swipe you can achieve full opaque coverage. It can also be sheered out for a more subtle look. As with Red Velvet the longevity on this bad boy is amazing about 5 hours wear plus 2 hours of stain afterwards.

THE VERDICT:

9/10 for the Lime Crime Velvetines. The formula is amazing on these bad boys, creamy and soft. They can be a bit drying but a good base-ting of your favorite lip balm should do the trick. They are super long wearing, extremely pigmented, yet easy to sheer out for a more subtle look. The doe foot applicator makes it easy and mess free. The only down side to this product is the smell. Its reminiscent of burnt butter…it kind of grosses me out but the odor disappears once the product dries after 30 seconds. I’d definitely recommend these babies for any gal or guy out there looking for vibrant, full proof, long wearing matte lip products.

Have you tried the Velvetines? Whats your take on them?

TopShop Haul & Blush/Lip Swatches

Hello lovelies,

A few weeks ago I stopped by TopShop to check out their make up line. We’ve had TopShop here in Copenhagen for a good 6 years or so and I’ve shopped there many a time but never experimented with their make up. Ive heard some awesome things about it so I thought I’d give it a go.

Heres what I got:

Topshop_haul

How cute is the packaging. Love the little polka dots and stripes. Even the outter packaging is the same!!!! It’s so girly and feminine, it just makes me want to slap it all over my face!! hahaha.

I picked up two of the cream blushes.

Head Over Heals is pastel coral and Morning Dew is a fresh pink. I’m really into cream blushes at the moment. They work great with my dry to combination skin. It makes my skin glow and they last all day. But be careful, these beauties are pigmented. I like to apply and blend out the product with my ring and middle finger. If I added too much I just use a damp Beauty Blender to work it’s magic 😀

I also picked up some lip products. Two of the jumbo lip pencils and a lipstick.

Topshop_haul_lipsTopshop_haul_lips_swatches

As you can see Coy is a matte coral pink. Wave Goodbye is a satin pink and Nevada is a nude matte. The matte products are super long lasting but a bit drying on the lips which is pretty normal for a product like that. The satin lip pencil is fab, its super shiny, super hydrating and lasts all day.

And lastly I picked up a liquid highlighter in Glow.

Topshop_haul_highligh_glow

Its a really great and unique highlight. It has subtle pink and gold notes and just looks so flattering and fresh on my skin. I like to top it off with a bit of Mac MSF in Soft&Gentle to really lock it in.

THE VERDICT

9/10 for this buy. The packaging is adorable yet functional. The pigmentation and lasting power on all these babies are fantastic. I would have given it 10/10 but the drying nature of the matte lip products brought it down a notch. I’m going to London in June to visit my sister and I’m definitely gonna hit up the huge TopShop on Oxford Street and load up on a few more products.

Have any of you used any products from TopShop, whats your favorite one?
