October Favorites

Hey guys,

Happy Halloween!!! October has definitely been a crazy month!! Ive been mad busy working on my masters thesis and starting my research so my beloved blogging has been put on the back burner. But I’ve definitely been giving love to all my wonderful products and this month I played around with a bunch of new things. So keep reading to see all my favorite beauty products during the month of October…

October_FavoritesSince autumn is upon us and the cold is creeping in my lips have definitely been nice and crispy… gross!! My Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla Macadamia has been a true god sent. I apply it every morning and evening and it definitely soothes, smooths and hydrates. Its completely clear so I slather it on real thick…plus it smells delicious!!

Nivea_LipButter_Vanilla_MacademiaIve been loving my deep and rich shades for the lips but I’ve also been loving the NYX Butter Gloss in Merengue. Its been my hand bag staple. Its so easy to apply without a mirror and looks great with almost everything. (Click here to check out a full review with swatches of the NYX Butter Glosses). NNNYX_ButterGloss_MerengueMy face gets so dry during autumn and winter so I like to use light foundations like BB creams. The Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream is great. It evens out my skin tone and provides light coverage without clinging to my dry patches.

smashbox_bb_CreamThe Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer has done wonders for covering my blemishes and imperfections. Its nice and thick and blends effortlessly into the skin.

Tarte_Maracuja_CreaslessConcealerI love me some highlight on the cheekbones. I feel like it really perks up the complexion. The RiRi Hearts Mac Cream Color Base in Diamonds is amazing. I love to sweep it on the top of my cheekbones for a natural glow. (Click here so see swatches of the collection).

RiRi_Hearts_Mac_Collection_diamondscreamcolorbaseNow for the eyes. I’m always switching it up since I have a lot of pallets that need attention but Ive really gravitated towards the The Barry M Dazzle Dust in nr. 98. Its perfect for a smokey eye and the pigmentation is insane. I also love the color shifting properties. Using different bases will bring out the more blue tones or make it look more black. Love it!!

barrym_dazzledust_98Here’s a smokey eye I created using the pigment..

barrym_dazzledust_98_smokeyeyeI always have trouble with eyeliner staying put on my bottom waterline (even when I pat it down with some eyeshadow to lock it into place!!). It always just disappears in a matter of minutes. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Covet Eyeliner Pencil in Noir has been my best friend. It glides on smoothly, it’s pigmented and stays put for a good few hours which is amazing for me!!

AnastasiaBeverlyHills_LavishKit_CovetPencilI rarely include fragrance in my favorites but this month I’ve been obsessed with the new Michael Kors fragrance in Sexy Amber. Its so rich and warm, perfect for autumn and winter.

Michael_Kors_Beauty_SExy+PerfumeWell those were some of my favorite beauty goodies from the past month. The holidays are now around the corner which means fun gift sets and palettes will be hitting stores. I cant wait to get my hands on some of them.

August Favorites

Hey Guys,

September is upon us which means its time for my monthly favorites. I had a chance to play around with a bunch of the new goodies I bought in July and many of them have made into my August favorites. Well lets just get into it shall we :)

August_FavoritesIve definitely been loving my Ben Nye Translucent Face Powder in Fair for setting my under eye concealer. Its described as translucent which it is but it has a slight pinky undertone which is awesome for really giving that extra brightening effect. It’s like the Banana Powder for fair skin. Plus its amazing at making my concealer crease free. My Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder has definitely been on the back burner as of late.

August_Favorites_BenNeye_TranslucentSettingPowderIve been wearing a lot more liquid and gel liners at the moment especially to create a winged look. The Soap & Glory Supercat Liquid Black Eyeliner Pen has been great. It doesn’t bleed or smudge and it’s so easy to create a winged liner in one swipe. The tip is nice and thin and its super pigmented.

Soap&Glory_Supercat_liquidLinerThe Josie Maran Infinity Cream has done wonders for my dry flaky skin on my left elbow (I know its weird but my right elbow is patch free and pretty smooth!!!) I also love it for my lips and cuticles. Its not thick or greasy and absorbs quickly into the skin. Another great product from a great company.

August_Favorites_JosieMaran_InfinityCreamI love to contour!!! I think its probably one of my favorite parts about makeup. It can really be the thing that totally transforms and completes a look. The Sonia Kashuk Undetectable Cream Bronzer in 41 Warm Tan is an amazing contouring product. The color is not muddy or orange on the face at all. It blends flawlessly into the skin, dries completely matte, and lasts all day long. Great product indeed.

August_Favorites_SoniaKashuk_UndetectableCreamBronzer_SwatchI absolutely love the Maybelline Color Tattoos. The one I’ve been using a lot has been number 65 Pink Gold. Virtually all the color tattoos are pretty amazing, long lasting, crease free, with awesome pigmentation. This shade is just so soft and lovely and works as a great base for so many shadow shades. I think I might do a Color Tattoo Collection post with swatches soon.

August_Favorites_maybelline_ColorTatoo_PinkGoldAs for nails, this summer my obsession has been pastel shades. I switch up my polish bi-weekly (at least!!) so it’s not often I stick to one shade but I’ve definitely been rocking the Barry M Jelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Greenberry on many occasions. Its a gorgeous minty pastel green with a  super cool glossy-jelly finish. Love it!!

August_Favorites_BarryM_GelNailPaint_GreenberryDuring summer I tend to not wear much lipstick but I do love me some gloss. The NYX Butter Glosses have been my go to lip products basically since I got them..I always have one in my purse 😀 (full review and swatches can be found here.) I’ve really been getting great use out of Apple Strudel this month, it’s a beautiful light coral shade.

August_Favorites_NYC_ButterGlossWell those were my favorite beauty products this past month. I have to say, although I love summer, I’m kind of looking forward to autumn. I love the colors and coziness of that time of year and getting to pull out some things that have been tucked away for the past season. So keep a look out for fun autumn posts.

Review & Swatches: NYX Butter Gloss

Hey guys,

So I recently instagrammed and blogged a Ulta Haul where I picked up a bunch of goodies including some NYX products. Well today I thought I’d review and swatch the NYX Butter Glosses in Apple Strudle, Peaches and Cream, Meringue, and Eclair.

NYX_ButterGloss

All I can say is these bad boys are AMAZING!! They are basically all I need in an everyday easy to wear lip product and this is why…

They all glide on smooth as butter and feel silky smooth on your lips. The consistency is amazing, its like a creamy smooth lip balm with amazing pigmentation and hydration to match. Its not gloopy or thick, its just the right amount of smooth buttery texture. Plus they smell like vanilla so they are just super yummy to have on 😀 The finish is amazing as well. Super shiny without any glitter flakes or chunks.

Here’s a closer look at these amazing lip products 😀

THE VERDICT:

10/10 for these amazing beauties 😀 I just cant say anything bad about them. They all smell great, look great, feel great and perform like magic. They aren’t totally opaque full on liquid pigment but they are awesome glosses non the less. They can be sheered down for a light wash of color or built up with 2 coats for a pretty powerful pout 😀 They last for a good while too and the price is amazing at just $5 a pop 😀 I would so recommend this this product.  I’m definitely gonna go back for more!!!

Have any of you tried the Butter Glosses? Whats your favorite shade?
