Nail Art Inspiration using Nail Stickers & Decals

Its no secret that I’m obsessed with…. I’ve tried their nail decals (check out my review here) and now I’m playing around with their nail art stickers. Just like nail decals, nail stickers are an easy and cost effective way to have super fun nails. I got my hands on a super adorable pair full of candies and sweets.

bornprettystore_nailstickers_sweetsI created this super cute mani by applying 1 coat of white polish followed by a glittery pink polish. I then used the “Sweets” nail sticker set.

bornprettystore_sweets_nailstickersI also thought it would be fun to share this mani I did using the “I Love You” set  (although they are nail decals and not nail stickers)

bornprettystore_iloveyou_nailstickersHow To Apply Nail Art Stickers

1. Apply base coat

2. Apply color or colors of your choice. Let dry completely.

3. When nail polish is super dry peel off sticker of choice using a tweezer and place on desired nail.

4. Apply top coat to seal in design.

The Verdict

These nail stickers get a 5/5 from me.

Although they may not be as thin as nail decals they are still on the thinner side compared to other brands and styles I’ve tried. They lay relatively flat on the nail and last a long time (about a week) before fading. They are so easy to apply, even easier than nail decals as it doesn’t require water. Plus there are so many awesome designs to choose from for less than $1!!! Check out their selection here and I also have a discount code for you guys so use BKYW10 at checkout for 10% off.

Whats your favorite way to incorporate nail art stickers into your designs?

October 2014 Beauty Favorites

So I’ve totally been slaking with the favorites posts but now I’m back and I think I have officially redeemed myself!!!!!

First monthly love has got to be the new Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows. The color selection is insane, the pigmentation is out of this world, and the formula is the creamiest softest gel to powder finish ever.

MakeUpForEvEr_ArtistShadowsMakeUpForEvEr_ArtistShadows_mufeFor my lips I’ve either been rocking Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense lipstick in 48, the perfect deep plummy red  or going full on nude with Mac Lip liner in Spice and Lipglass in Obviously Bare.

mac_lipliner_spice_macLipglass_MUFE_RougeArtistIntenseI’m still obsessing and using my Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour kit. It has everything I need and does the job magnificently.

anastasia_beverely_Hills_contourkitI’ve found a new holy grail eyeliner that actually stays put in my waterline all day long without smearing, smudging, bleeding or any of that nasty stuff. Its the Hourglass Mechanical Gel Liner in Obsidian. The tip is super fine which makes doing the waterline a jiff and allows precision if used on the lid or under the bottom lashes. It’s super creamy, dries quickly, lasts all day, and is highly pigmented.

hourglass_mechanical_gel_linerI’m taking a break from my Depend Cosmetic Gel Polish and been spreading the love to my normal polishes. Ive been rocking OPI In The Cable-Car Pool Lane non stop at the moment. If you haven’t noticed I have a thing for deep plummy-reds!!

Valinetines Day Inspired Nail Art & How To

Hey there loevely people,

February is the month of love (well every month is really) and its a great time of year to appreciate and celebrate not only your loved ones but yourself. Whether your going out to dinner with family and friends, or having a cozy intimate dinner with your partner in the comfort of your own home, or simply enjoying time with and for yourself why not try one of these super easy Valentines Day inspired nails.

valentines_day_inspired_nailartIf you want to go a more traditional route try this really easy design I created using the Konad Nail stamping system. All you need is a base coat, a white base, a baby pink and the Konad Stamping Plate nr m59 with stamper and scraper (can be bought here).

Step 1: Apply one coat of your favorite base coat. I love the Nailtique Formula 2. for strengthening and protecting my nails.

Step 2: Apply two coats of white polish. I used Essie Blanc. Let dry completely between layers.

Step 3: Apply your pink polish (I Used Ciates Paint Pot in Kiss Chase) to the desired design on the Konad plate (make sure it is an opaque shade rather than sheer shade for best results with the Konad system). Scrape away the excess, transfer design to stamper, transfer stamper to nails. Repeat for other nails.

Step 4: When polish is completely dry apply one layer of a fast drying top coat. My absolute favorite is Seche Vite. Apply very little pressure to the brush when applying to the nail and apply with as few swipes as possible to avoid color bleeding of the pink.

If you want to try something a bit more edgy and a little more fashion forward try this heart studded manicure. All you need is a fire engine red and some silver metal studs in heart and triangle shapes. You can buy an array of shapes, sizes, finishes, here on Amazon or just search for metal nail art rhinestones on Ebay or Etsy 😀

Step 1: Apple one coat of your favorite base coat.

Step 2: Apply two coats of red polish. OPI The Thrill Of Brazil is one of my faves.

Step 3: Apply top coat and apply the silver metal studs while the top coat is still wet. You want to apply the little triangles to the base of the nail and the heart stud on the ring finger. I suggest applying the top coat and rhinestones one nail at a time to ensure the studs adhere properly.

Step 4: Apply one more layer of top coat to seal in the studs.

I’m personally really digging the red one with the silver metal studs. It’s kind of bad-ass and sweet at the same time!! What do you guys think? Would you try any of these? If you do #binkydiamonds on instagram or post on my Facebook page here so I can see your recreations.
