November and December Favorites

Hey Guys,

So I decide to combine my November and December favorites since I was sick/traveling most of November and December. Anyways enough with the explanations and on to my most used products of the past two months.

November/December_favoritesMy Dermalogica Age Smart Skin Perfect Primer has been a rediscovery for me…I forgot how amazing it was at filling in pores and blurring imperfections. Plus it makes my skin silky smooth so my foundation glides on like butter. Love this bad boy.

Dermologica_agesmart_primerIve been keeping it pretty light in terms of foundation, using mainly BB creams or tinted Moisturizer since my skin was recovering from the flu and terrible breakouts. I have been using the Mac Pro Longwear Concealer to hide my under eye bags and to brighten up that whole area. Ive also been using my Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer for those pesky hormonal spots Ive been getting on my chin.

mac_pro_longwear_concealerFavorite_longwear_beauty_products_TarteConcealerWhen I arrived in London in mid November the first thing I did was pop by Space NK in Covent Garden to pick up the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Trio. Its the only thing Ive been using since I got it and Ive already flattened the dome on Dim Light . OMG this stuff is amazing, I have my setting powder, highlight and bronzer all in one spot and wow oh wow do they work wonders. They make my skin look so flawless and natural, I’m truly in love.

Hourglass_ambiant_LightingPowder_trioThis may not count as a monthly favorite but I had to mention the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. I picked it up in early December and haven’t touched any other of my shadows since. The shades are gorgeous, the pigmentation is amazing and the texture is buttery smooth. Its just an amazing palette that works to create a range of looks πŸ˜€

UrbanDecay_naked3_paletteLastly for my lips I’ve been keeping it pretty simple with my Nivea Lip Butters but otherwise Ive been rocking my Mac RiRi Woo combo which includes the Pro Longwear Lip Pencil, Retro Matte Lipstick and Lipglass. Its the most fab long wearing combo for a perfect red pout. I like to layer all three products to maximize longevity and minimize bleeding, plus I love the look of a shiny red lip, its so glam.

nive_lipButtermac_ririwoo_lipcomboWell guys those were my November and December favorites πŸ˜€ Ill be doing a Best Beauty Products of 2013 post, a kind of round of a the best and most used make up products from the last year so keep an eye out for that. In the mean time, what were some of your most loved products of the past month?

Mac Haul and Mini Review

Hey guys, so here’s a little Mac haul from earlier in the week. Its from the Archie’s Girls collection. I’m sure you’ve seen a bazillion of these out there in internet land but they just launched the collection here in Denmark in early March so I thought I could share with all my Europeans out there πŸ˜€

So if you didn’t know the details about the collection, its split in 2, products from the Betty line and products from the Veronica line.Β  I only picked up a few items from the collection (mostly from the Betty line): a beauty powder, a blush and 2 lip products. Not like I need more make up but gosh darn that packaging is cute. I’m a sucker for cute packaging!!!! The eye shadows and other lip products didn’t really scream out to me and I feel like I actually have things in my collection which are very similar. Enough of the jiber jabber and lets get on with what were really here for πŸ˜€

These are my goodies, look how cute that packaging is…Mac knows how to do it right!!!

So I picked up a powder blush from the Betty side in Cream Soda. Its a beautiful peach color and according to Mac it’s a satin but it looks pretty matte to me. Either way, it’s a great blush, been rockin it since I got it. The pigmentation is great, especially on my fair skin. Its easy to blend so im super happy with this one!!

Here’s the only item I purchased from the Veronica part of the collection, the pearlmatte beauty powder in Veronica’s Blush. I would say its more pearl than matte (lol) and actuallyΒ  pretty frosty. I have to say this is probably my least favorite item that I picked up. Im not really sure how to use it to be honest. I tried as a blush but the dark pink hearts were realllllllyyyyyy pigmented so it kind of just made me look a little blotchy. So I tried using only the light pink and only as a highlighter on my cheekbones and that worked out fine. But I don’t think this will be my go to highlighter. Maybe in the summer when im a bit more tan it will work better. But lets see.

Now on to the good stuff and my favorite part…the lip products, all from Betty’s line. I picked up a Lipstick in Betty Bright, its a satin. Love Love Love this. Its the perfect coral, its pigmented, soft and a perfect color for spring which hasn’t arrived in Copenhagen yet but I feel its just lurking around the corner πŸ˜€

I also purchased a lipglass in Summer Sweet Heart. Its a milky, opaque peachy pink. It kind of reminds me of the Nars lip gloss in Turkish Delight in terms of consistency and opacity but this ones definitely more peachy/coarlly. The two products together are definitely my favorite way to wear them. They compliment each other really nicely πŸ˜€

So overall the products I purchased are great.

Packaging: 10/10

Pigmentation: 9/10

Blendability: 9/10

So if your a sucker for cute packaging, nostalgic about your youngster comic books days, and looking for some cute products to add to your collection then I say go for it!!

Stay tuned for more hauls to come and spring manis πŸ˜€
