Review and Swatches: Smashbox Halo Long Wear Blush in Peachy Dream

Hey guys,

Ive got another Smashbox review for you all 😀 I hope your not getting bored with all the Smashbox but Ive totally forgotten how amazing this brand is!! Also they recently brought the brand back to Denmark so now my Danish girls can finally get their hands on this super brand. Its available at Style Box in Lyngby Store Center and Fields Shopping Center.

Today’s swatches will be on the Halo Long Wear Blush in Peachy Dream.

smashbox_peachydream_haloblushsmashbox_peachydream_haloblush_BackIt’s housed in a sturdy plastic case with a mirror. It small and compact so easy for travel or to throw in your hand bag.

smashbox_peachydream_haloblush_insideAs with all the Halo products, the blush is exposed with a shaving mechanism. Half a turn and you get the perfect amount of product for your cheeks. Plus it keeps everything clean and hygienic.

Peachy Dream is a beautiful peachy coral with a slight pink under tone. Its almost completely matte yet it does have a slight sheen to it. Not shiny or glittery but a beautiful glow.

The pigmentation is very strong, the formula is silky smooth, finely mild and melts like butter into the skin for a flawlessly blended application.

The longevity is crazy with this baby. It lasted for over 8 hours with no sign of fading or need for touch ups. LOVE IT!!!!!

10/10 for this bad boy. Pigmentation, blendability, formula, and longevity are insane. It definitely lasts for hours and makes the skin look fresh and vibrant. Its a perfect must have summer blush. I think I’ll take this one with me on holiday 😀

Have any of you tried the Halo Blushes? Whats your favorite shade?

Review & Swatches: Smashbox Photo Op Eye Shadow Palette Smoke Box II

Hey Guys,

I hope your all having a lovely summer. I’m officially on summer break, just handed in my last uni paper, and now and loving every moment of summer 😀

Today I thought I’d share another Smashbox product: Photo Op Eye Shadow Palette Smoke Box II ($39 available at or, unfortunately unavailable in Denmark).

Smashbox_SmokeBox_ReviewSmashbox_SmokeBox_Review_InsideThis beautiful palate comes housed in hard a sturdy matte black case. Inside there are six lovely smokey shades. The palette also comes with a double ended brush. To be honest I find these rather useless , 9 times out of 10, brushes included in eyeshadow set tend to be not of the best quality. These are OK if you lost all your brushes and your fingers didn’t work (hahaha). They are definitely nothing compared to real Smashbox brushes.

On to the swatches we go:

Alabaster: A off white cream shade with a matte finish. In the flash it looks like it has a satin finish but it is more on the matte side. Its super soft, buttery, highly pigmented and a really beautiful brow highlight and a great base color.

Smashbox_SmokeBox_Review_ThunderThunder: Is a slate grey with slight shimmer. This one was also highly pigmented, smooth, and easy to blend. It had a tad bit of fall out due to the shimmer particles but nothing that cant be avoided if you tap the excess off the brush.

Smashbox_SmokeBox_Review_BlackoutBlackout: Is a matte black. It isn’t the blackest of blacks and leans more toward a dark grey or slate black. Again this shade is smooth, soft, blendable and highly pigmented.

Smashbox_SmokeBox_Review_RoastRoast: Is a mid toned brown with glitter and shimmer particles. This shade had the chunkiest amount of glitter and the most fall out. Nothing huge though, and almost expected with a shade like this. Regardless though the pigmentation is phenomenal and so is the blending capabilities.

Smashbox_SmokeBox_Review_BlackCuurentBlack Current: Is a rich plumy purple with a  matte finish. This is probably my favorite shade in the whole set. Its absolutely gorgeous. Its such a unique shade, im kind of in ove with it at the moment!! Its the softest and creamiest shade in the palette, blends beautifully and the pigmentation is pretty insane.

Smashbox_SmokeBox_Review_SeafoamSeafoam: Is a light champagne shade with golden undertones and a shimmer finish. It looks more silver under the flash, so depending on the lightening it can read slightly more gold or slightly more silver. Its also very smooth to the touch and I didn’t experience fall out with shade. It really is beautiful and pigmented. It really looks fab on the inner corners of the eyes ot all over the lid.

9/10 for this beautifully put together palette. The shades all work together to create a full eye look for either day or night. All the shades are buttery smooth, highly pigmented and so easy to blend and use. There is some fall out but very minimal. As with many dark eye looks, I would suggest applying pre-foundation to avoid any disturbance to the face makeup.

It is pretty pricey almost $40 so if you have similar colors in your collection then I wouldn’t say this is a must. But the quality of these shadows are amazing and that Black Currant shade is to die for.

Here’s a look I did using most of the shades from the palette.

Alabaster: base shade from lid to brow.

Seafoam: on the inner corner by the tear duct.

Roast: on the lid and slightly blended in crease.

Black Currant: outer corner and into crease.

Has anyone tried this Smoke Box out? Would love to hear your experiences 😀

Review & Swatches: Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer

Hey Guys,

Happy weekend lovelies 😀 Today’s post will be a review on the Smashbox Photo Finish Hyrdating Under Eye Primer that I received in my goodie bag at a recent event ($29). Its available in the US via or and for my Brits via Unfortunately it’s not longer available in Denmark but can be purchased here through

According to Smashbox:

“This breakthrough, ultrahydrating formula primes the undereye area while reducing the look of fine lines, puffiness, wrinkles, age spots, and dark circles. Smooth under eyes before makeup application or wear alone for instant brightening. Its soothing qualities improve skin texture and tone, and unlike moisturizer, this silky primer prevents concealer from slipping off and settling into fine lines.

What else you need to know:
This product is infused with antiaging, good-for-your-eyes ingredients such as caffeine, peptides, and optical diffusers”.

Smashbox_PhotoFinish_Hydrating_UnderEyePrimer_SwatchesNow we get to the good stuff 😀

The packaging for this product is pretty standard. It’s housed in a plastic tube (very similar to the Juicy Tubes by Lancome). A pea sized amount of product is enough for both eyes and with one little squeeze you get the perfect amount. A little really goes a long way. Just dab and tap and voila it’s basically disappeared into the skin.

The texture and consistency of this product is super nice. It’s a tad thicker then your average eye cream yet blends out smoothly and seamlessly. The finish is great as well. It blends in to the skin with ease, evens out skin tone and preps/primes the area for your foundation or concealer. And it definitely does a great job at, hydrating, preventing creasing, brightening and evening out skin tone.

10/10 for this amazing product. Smashbox does it again with this unique formula. Although a bit pricey a little goes a long way, hydrates the under eye area, yet stops concealer creasing. I can honestly say it has helped with the longevity of my under eye make up too. Its also fabulous to wear on it’s own, it just instantly brightens, tightens and evens the under eye area in one quick swipe. This product is definitely one of my everyday musts and will be for a very long time to come.

Have any of you tried this amazing product? I’m really loving Smashbox at the moment…what are you favorite Smashbox products?
